Thanksgiving 2006

Owen and I spent our Thanksgiving in Rochester. We had a very nice visit and Owen was a real trooper throughout the whole week. He handled the flight to and from really well, even after waiting 5 hours in the Rochester airport for our return to Vancouver. Our flight out kept getting delayed due to bad weather in Toronto.

It felt so good to be with family and friends! It was a treat to see my nephew and nieces and to see Owen play with them. We stayed with Grandma & Grandpa Mitrano and Uncle Mike came in from Texas the night after we did. It didn't take long for Owen to warm up to family and friends. We visited some people I used to work with over at Columbus ERA and had some friends over for a visit one night during the week of our visit. One night, we visited some relatives on Grandma M's side and on Thanksgiving, we celebrated with Grandpa M's side of the family. It was a busy week for us!

Our visit went by fast, but when we finally made it back home after a very long return trip, we were glad to finally be with Chris/Daddy! We both missed him a lot and Chris was and is, very happy to have us back! When we left Vancouver, we left a very waterlogged and soggy Vancouver. When we came back, we came back in the early stages of a snowstorm! I wasn't expecting that at all. After a few days of snow, we ended up with somewhere over a foot of snow. This is unusual. This was more snow than Vancouver usually gets in a whole winter! The morning after we got back, we all went outside and Owen took his first steps in the snow. He was fascinated... or perplexed. It was hard to tell because all he did was stand in one spot and look at the ground.

I'm still a little jetlagged, so I'm going to sign off now and recover!
