Yesterday we finally had a joint birthday party at our house for Owen and his friend Kara. Kara's birthday is on Oct. 4th, the day before Owen's and she turned two as well! Kara's mom, Christy and I were going to do this last Saturday but a lot of us got sick so we postponed it until yesterday.Christy made the cupcakes and they were SO GOOD!! The kids liked 
them too! Owen doesn't get to eat cake or sweets that often but when he does, he goes crazy! He ate one, somehow snuck in another and we let him have it because after all, it is his birthday, right? You gotta celebrate. But however, we drew the line at cupcake #3 in which he did a grab-and-run. He must've known we would confiscate it, but decided to try anyway. He had M&M's for the first time yesterday but like his Dad, he's not a huge chocolate fan. Anyway, before the cupcakes, we did the candles and the Happy Birthday song. We had to keep lighting up Owen's candles 
because he kept blowing them out before the song even started and before the song was over. Silly kid.
