Owen turned 3 on Sunday. Can you believe that?? And then to add to the realization that he's quickly growing up, he attended his first day of preschool the very next day. It was a little too much for me to handle... too much, too fast. We had a little celebration at home that spanned just about the entire day. I ordered Owen a Wall-E birthday cake since he's very into Wall-E these days. He loved the cake. He requested chocolate and enjoyed eating that while playing with his new Wall-E figurines. He also got a rocket launcher, some toy hockey gear, a jacket, a book, and finally, what he wanted most, to his surprise - a bicycle. A while back while I was shopping, he spotted a yellow two-wheeler with training wheels, got on it and rode up and down the aisles in the store. He really wanted it but I managed to get him off of it without much of a fight and no tears. But, just about every day thereafter until his birthday, he remembered that bike and would talk to me about how he wanted to ride it. On Sunday, we surprised him with it and he was SO HAPPY! He could not wait to get outside, so we padded him up and off he went!

i wish we could have been there to celebrate with you and your parents. i miss you, ana, your mommy and daddy sooooo much. however, i am grateful for the webcam because i get to see you and chat.

i neglected to mention how much i love your bike and how big you look riding it. i love the fact that you are so well protected with your elbow/knee pads. you have very caring parents that want to make certain you are safe on your yellow bike.
