This weekend has been beautiful. We welcomed the nice weather and enjoyed it as much as we could. Chris took Friday off from work and turned this into a 4-day weekend since Monday was a holiday. On Friday we stayed close to home and had an impromptu picnic at the playground.
Then on Saturday we went all out on the fun and spent the day at the amusement park. Owen is "above the line" by almost 2 inches, so he was able to go on all the kiddie rides. He especially LOVED the rollercoaster! Chris and I took turns taking him on the ones that needed some adult supervision. The first ride Chris and Owen went on together, ended up with a trip to the first aid station. Chris got a 2nd degree friction burn on his hand when he tried to slow them down by placing his hand on the slide's rim. Owen got a little bump on his head, but he's ok. We thought Ana would nap in her stroller during our time there but she was awake the entire time, enjoying the sights and sounds. 
Sunday, we took it easy even though it was another nice day, but not as warm as the day before. We tried to all go for a walk, but Ana decided she'd rather have a nap, so it was just Owen and Chris that went. I enjoyed about 5 minutes of peace and quiet outside, reading the paper before Owen came back with scraped knees and elbows and very dirty, but happy. They went for a little hike out in the woods behind our house. 
What I also enjoyed very much is that on Sunday and Monday, Chris cooked dinner! It was a nice break for me, plus I took a few hours and went to the mall and grocery shopping by myself. I actually bought a dress with some birthday money I received. Maybe next week I can go again, this time for shoes.

owen and ana are getting so big. i must say, they are truly beautiful children. the looks on their faces is pure joy.
chris, you are a hero. the things we do to protect our children from harm....good job trying to slow down the slide. hopefully your hand feels much better ;-)
