This past Sunday we went for a bike ride in Stanley Park. We had hoped to bike longer than we did but the weather had other plans for us. We cut our ride short so the kids could get some playground time before the rain came. However, it didn't rain hard so we stuck around, and after about 30 minutes, it stopped raining. The playground was a little wet and Ana's hair got matted, but we had fun.
Right next to the playground was the beach so we took a stroll on the sand & rocks and hunted for shells and crabs. Owen got a wonderful, close-up look at some marine life, specifically crabs. Some of the crabs that had washed up the shore, unfortunately were lifeless but Owen decided that he wanted them to be his friends anyway and took home two crabs which were later named Pinchy and Freckles. Pinchy is a blue/gray crab, squarish in shape with large front claws. Freckles, whom I don't have a photo of, sadly, was more whitish in color with red/orange freckles, a little smaller, rounder and with smaller claws.
